2025 Yamaha XMax – First Look

Yamaha announced an updated XMax scooter for 2025, with subtle tweaks to improve rider comfort. Pricing starts at $6,299, an increase of $100 over the 2024 model.
Visually, the 2025 XMax doesn’t look too different from last year’s model. The most noticeable difference is the redesigned muffler that is longer and less bulky than the previous design, with Yamaha claiming reduced weight and improved mass centralization. The swingarm was also redesigned to accommodate the new exhaust.
Yamaha reshaped the front cowling to reduce wind buffeting, while increasing the size of the integrated turn signals to provide more wind protection to the rider’s arms. For 2025, the XMax receives a new electronic windscreen, offering four inches of stepless adjustments.
Behind the front shield is a new instrument panel combining a 4.2-inch TFT and a backlit 3.2-inch LCD screen. Smartphone connectivity is available through Yamaha’s Y-Connect app, with a new USB-C socket to help keep electronic devices charged.
The engine remains a 292cc fuel-injected Single, with power delivered through a continuously variable transmission. Yamaha also remapped the traction control system, refining how it adjusts the ignition and fuel delivery.
Other features include lockable underseat storage, an adjustable handlebar, Yamaha’s Smart Key system, and full LED lighting. The fuel tank holds 3.4 gallons, with Yamaha claiming the XMax delivers 73 mpg.
The 2025 Yamaha XMax will arrive in dealerships in March in Midnight Black.

at least it’s still gasoline powered.
Pricey? I can't find a 2024 in the Kansas City area for less than $7k with shipping and dealer setup.
